After the success of the first large-format calligraphy workshop, where we put into practice the ancient Tensho style, we are back with this second edition dedicated to cursive styles.
Let's take advantage of the good weather to go out to our patio and work in a large format outdoors!
The Sousho style 草書 or “grass writing” refers to the cursive style. A style that prioritizes the fluidity and continuity of the writing when one stroke seeks another and the maximum contact on the paper during its execution. For this reason, the letter is synthesized in rhythmic movements, thus showing a richness in the strokes with changes worked in a very subtle way. The beauty of the stroke is more important than the legibility of the character itself.

So, in the first part of the workshop we will choose a calligraphy among the various proposals and with it we will learn what the strokes of the Sousho cursive style are like with a brush.
In the second part of the workshop, we will go to the patio to put into practice what we have learned on large pieces of paper and using larger brushes and palette knives. Working on the floor and standing up will make it like being inside each gesture drawn.
We will work one by one to provide an opportunity for observation, thus learning from our classmates.

· NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· VERY LIMITED SPACE
· INCLUDED MATERIAL - For those who have large format material, it is a good time to bring it, use it and thus be able to learn from/with all of them.
· COMFORTABLE CLOTHES THAT CAN GET DIRTY – There is a bathroom available for changing. It is important to bring black socks in addition to the ones you are wearing. These will be used for the large format practice, where we will have to step on the paper and get dirty. Loose clothing so we can move freely.
