CALLIGRAPHY and PAINTING EXHIBITIONS
In this section we show some of the exhibitions created by Shodo Creativo, those initiatives self-managed by our students and the exhibitions linked to the brush arts that we visit both in Spain and in other parts of the world and that we consider worth sharing.
We believe that both the spectator and the active creator stages help us to better UNDERSTAND Japanese painting and calligraphy, to study their modes of SOCIALIZATION, as well as to understand the different forms of EXHIBITION of productions linked to the arts of the brush.
Since 2017, Elena Hikari and some of her students have been invited to participate with their calligraphy (being the only Western group) in two annual exhibitions aimed at promoting the art of Japanese calligraphy, specifically those that showcase the great work of the master calligrapher Tonomura Randen 殿村藍田 (1913-2000) through the works presented by his partners and students.
As a direct pupil of Randen Sensei, Hikita Masao “Sekiin” participates in a determinant way in the organization along with the Gayuukai 雅友会 (Japanese calligraphy research and promoting association) in Kyoto and with the promoting Seiransha 青藍社 in Tokyo.
