WHITE ON WHITE Painting, spontaneity and time
In this monographic workshop we work on the development of painting with white based on the specific character of the strokes that define the unique and unrepeatable brushstroke. This BRUSHSTROKES DOES NOT ALLOW CORRECTION and therefore requires conscious experience. We also consider the conscious use of time - speed, which combines it with space - to take the limits of monochromatic painting to the maximum. We investigate the subtlety of the white color, the nature of its material, and its synchronicities and abysses within the paper support.
It is about going back to work from the zero degree of painting so that learning allows us not only to know the new, but to un-know and recognize. An unprejudiced visit to give ourselves over to the experience of painting as an authentic, vital and sensitive practice. In this workshop we work mainly with white gouache. Luciana Rago
